We are a joyful Christian community with both permanent and transient members of all ages and vocations. We come together to celebrate life and seek Holiness through prayer, loving service, and inner healing.

Faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, our daily life is a reflection of the prayers and practices of the Church calendar.

Our love is Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and we are privileged to have Him present in our very own, on-site chapel

As a community, we host or help facilitate retreats, and faith based events. We welcome guests to join in our daily prayer and community life. We open our doors to like-minded individuals or groups seeking refreshment, renewal, and a place to grow in Holiness alongside us. This can be done as a retreat or as part of our Community Life Program.

Community Life Program

The Community Life Program is open to families, Religious, or individuals over the age of 18, who wish to experience community life, grow in holiness, and further the will of God in their lives.

Prospects must:

  • Have a clean criminal record

  • Be physically able to contribute to the daily work life

  • Willing to take part in the daily prayer life

  • They must also be committed to growing in personal holiness through ongoing inner healing prayer ministry, which is available to all members and guests.

  • Families must have at least one member that is present and able to contribute fully to work, prayer, and community events each day.

A typical day in the life of a CLP member:

  • Begins with praise and worship followed by Mass.

  • Members of our community program will spend most of the day working in various areas around the center, as needed or assigned,

  • 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. come together for Divine Mercy Chaplet and adoration

  • Members take turns cooking meals within the retreat centre, and once a week CLP families will take a turn and join them for a meal and a community event.

  • In the evenings, after supper, members are encouraged to spend time working on individual talents, leading or taking part in bible studies or prayer groups, and growing as individuals within the community, however that looks for them.

  • At 9:00 p.m. we come together once again as a community to pray the Divine Office

  • Sunday, aside from Mass, is a day usually reserved to enjoy as you please

  • Members staying for several months are encouraged to take part in the parish ministries at Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church in Hinton, AB

We often host events involving the greater community of Hinton, such as potluck dinners, game nights, prayer nights, and bible studies. As a retreat centre, we often facilitate or host groups and individuals on private or preached retreats. This in many ways is the sustaining factor of our community and allows us to bring the love of God beyond the borders of Hinton, AB.

We have a variety of on-site accommodations for individuals, families, and couples.
